GREENSBORO, N.C. - A well-known Greensboro sports recruiter, Hill Carrow, has been named one of the leading “Sports Planners and Industry Professionals to Watch in 2020” by this month’s annual edition of SportsEvents magazine Readers' Choice Awards.

Carrow started his own company 18 years ago, Sports & Properties Inc., with a focus on building the sports economy, as well as recruiting and managing events.
He said the first major success was in 2011 when the company won the bid to host the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and the Greensboro Aquatic Center opened that same year.
“That was kind of a benchmark year for the area because we have expanded our Olympic and amateur sports portfolio here in Greensboro by several times over,” Carrow emphasized.
He said events like the figure skating championships have brought in over $20 million to the local economy in the past few years, along with several hours of national and international television coverage.
