Santa delivered pleasant weather to North Carolina for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and it looks like that nice weather is here to stay for a while!
We will see plenty of sun Thursday that will allow temperatures to warm to near 60 and the low 60s across the Piedmont. That's at least 10 degrees above average for late December.

We should see more clouds Thursday night. Lows will just drop to the upper 30s to low 40s by Friday morning.

The mild afternoon temperatures will continue each day through the upcoming weekend. Highs in the 60s are forecast through Monday.
Wet weather will return over the weekend though. A storm system in the western U.S. late this week will arrive in the Carolinas by end the end of the weekend. That will likely bring anywhere from a quarter of an inch up to one inch of rain to the Triad Sunday through early Monday morning.
Cooler temperatures are then forecast for New Years Eve and New Years Day.
