WILKESBORO, N.C. -- It's been a while since the checkered flag flew over the North Wilkesboro Speedway but soon you can speed around the track from the comfort of your own home.

It's part of i-Racing, where racers compete online on real racetracks that developers recreate like a video game.

He and i-Racing officials cleared years of dirt and weeds off the North Wilkesboro speedway so lasers could trace the land and use that data to reproduce a digital version of the track.

i-Racing claims to be the most realistic driving simulator on the market today.
