WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Dixie Classic Fair wrapped up Sunday evening and fair runners called it a success.

  • Merchandise sales also saw a jump
  • It was the last time the fair would be named "The Dixie Classic Fair"
  • City leaders have not come up with a new name for the fair

"The fair has been phenomenal this year. Good weather is really what causes people to come out and bring their families and have fun. Our first weekend we had near record numbers, which was great. We've had full houses every single day of the fair," Siobhan Olson, a spokesperson for the fair said.

Merchandise sales also saw a jump.

"Our merchandise sales have set new records. As of last weekend, we had sold out of a lot of merchandise. We re-ordered and re-stocked everything," Olson said.

It was the last time the fair would be named "The Dixie Classic Fair". Olson said she is confident a new name will not impact the fair's future success.

"People that have been coming to this fair for years are extremely loyal. They love this fair," she said.

City leaders have not come up with a new name for the fair.
