LEXINGTON, N.C. -- The famous Lexington Barbecue Festival is just weeks away.

Organizers hosted a kickoff lunch on Wednesday to celebrate its 36th year.
This year's festival will include an exhibit on the history of barbecue, the 2019 Barbecue Wall of Fame inductees, and the 15th edition of Fine Swine Wine.
"We're just thrilled to be able to bring this festival to life every year in honor of our world famous barbecue heritage and keep that special vibe alive because that is what we are known for," said festival director Stephanie Saintsing.
The festival is Saturday, October 26 on Main Street in uptown Lexington.
