The Catherine H. Barber Shelter was part of the community for decades. However, they got an eviction notice last month.

The shelter was at that previous spot for the past 31 years. Now, they have to be out by the first of October.

About 200 people were severed last year, staying between two to three weeks at a time.

The good news? The shelter has a temporary location in the works. One of the shelter's board members says they hope to have no gap between when the doors close and when they can move in at this temporary new location.

Board members hosted a chicken-que last week to kick off fundraising efforts for a new location and had an overwhelming response.

That temporary location will be announced this week. If you'd like to donate, the shelter is accepting both monetary and physical donations.
