Dr. Peter Miller said the hospital has seen other similar cases in the emergency room with people coming with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, respiratory failure, and infection.
“What we do know is that young, healthy people are presenting to the ICU much sicker than they had in the past and the type of syndrome that we're seeing is atypical for a young person who's otherwise healthy,” said Dr. Miller.
Dr. Miller said they do not know how to exactly treat this syndrome and they are unaware of the long term effects because the problem is new.
