WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Over a hundred people who are blind or visually impaired are at risk of losing their job as the VA is ending contracts with IFB Solutions.

The company is transitioning 47 people into other areas on the company and plans to start the layoff process within the next week.
IFB lost one of three optical contracts with the VA, following a court decision denying a request to stay.
In a month the VA contract will expire and another 130 employees jobs are at risk.
“We have people who have a never had a job before that have come here,” said David Horton/ President, CEO IFB Solutions. “And they’re depending on us and trusting us and they’ve been able to have life-changing opportunities because of it.”
The company had gone to court to stop the VA from ending the contracts and has filed for its case to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court.
