DENTON, N.C -- The Classic Family Restaurant in Denton celebrated its grand opening Friday at its new location, after more than two years out of business following a fire.

  • Several of the employees who lost their jobs during that time have returned to the business.
  • It's taken a long time to re-open because of complications with inspections.
  • The owners reopened in a new location off Highway 109 right next to Lowes Foods.

Several of the employees who lost their jobs during that time have returned to the business.

One of the waitresses said it's taken a long time to re-open because of complications with inspections.

More than two dozen people are on staff, and they've been as eager as the loyal customers to see the restaurant bounce back from the 2016 fire.

“Obviously, it was right around Christmas time, so that made it even more hard. Some of us were unsure what we were going to do about jobs, but I think it made us all stronger and made us all closer,” said waitress Haley Morris.
