ORLANDO, Fla. — Troopers continue to search for a black Lexus sedan thought to have hit several good Samaritans who had gotten out of their vehicles to help a pedestrian who was struck moments before on Orange Blossom Trail early Thursday.

  • 2 dead, 1 critically injured in back-to-back pedestrian crashes
  • Crashes happened on Orange Blossom Trail near 41st Street
  • Authorities searching for driver of black Lexus with Florida tag LLTC87

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 39-year-old pedestrian was killed just before 3 a.m. when a red Dodge SUV was attempting a U-turn on Orange Blossom Trail near 41st Street.

The SUV, driven by 22-year-old Lazeya Rivera, of Clermont, struck the pedestrian while completing the U-turn in the northbound lanes, troopers say. The pedestrian, later identified as Nostaky Extanus, 39, of Winter Park, died at the scene.

The SUV then crashed into a building. The driver and two passengers incurred minor injuries.

Soon after, three good Samaritans stopped to help Extanus, struck by the SUV.

That's when a black Lexus sedan struck those three people, troopers said.

One good Samaritan was killed. He was identified as Damion Bradford, 32, of Apopka. Another person was seriously injured and is in critical condition. The third good Samaritan incurred minor injuries.

The Lexus kept going. Troopers are still looking for a black four-door 2017 Lexus with front-end damage and possibly windshield damage. It has a Florida tag of LLTC87.

Rivera faces charges of one count of third-degree murder, one count of DUI manslaughter, and two other charges. She made a first appearance before a judge at the Orange County Jail on Friday, where the judge set bond for her and also ordered a no-alcohol restriction.

Rivera bonded out Friday evening around 9 p.m.

Residents say this area of OBT is dangerous to cross. On Memorial Day, FHP responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash in the same area.

Cindy Meyer, who lives at the complex, became emotional when describing just how scared she is to cross the street.

"People, if you want to drive, please make sure to have your eyes open," Meyer said.

If you have any information about the location of the black Lexus, you're urged to call FHP or Crimeline at 407-423-TIPS.
