Wake Forest Baptist Health is getting a state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot labor and delivery center and neonatal intensive care unit.
The hospital said this facility is unique because there are 51 private patient rooms to give parents and families a more comfortable and private environment to welcome their new baby.
“There's one for the mom as she labors, but your family can actually be over on the one side with the wall in between so the doctors go in and see you, your family can be over here and it's very private,” said, CEO of Wake Forest Baptist Health, Dr. Julie Freischlag.
This new unit is expected to open its doors to patients by the end of July.
