The American Hebrew Academy is blaming money for the closing.

Faculty and staff were told about the abrupt closure in a meeting Tuesday. They also received an email from the school’s CEO informing them of the closure due to “insufficient growth in enrollment and inadequate funding.”

Most contracts of faculty and staff will be terminated Wednesday afternoon, and remaining staff members should expect additional layoffs later in the summer.

School is out for the summer and the summer camp program will still go on, despite the closure.
