Fire crews spent hours battling a fire at the Cooks Flea Market on North Patterson Avenue in Winston-Salem Wednesday. The building suffered extensive damage, and was closed for business this weekend.

Flea market managers say the first steps are to restore power and water to the section of the market with the least amount of damage, while working to clean up the debris and damage of the impacted areas.

Management says the goal is to grant access to vendors sooner rather than later. They hope to reopen a portion of the market in the near future.
