GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A woman is facing charges after police say she drove off the the side of a road and hit a pedestrian.
- Elijah Coppedge, 72, died at the scene.
- Gwynne Furches faces multiple charges.
- It happened along E. Gate City Boulevard.
That pedestrian was 72-year-old Elijah Coppedge who lived in Greensboro. Authorities say Coppedge was walking along the side of E. Gate City Boulevard when Gwynne Furches, 22, veered off the side the road and hit Coppedge as well as a utility pole.
We're told the man died at the scene. Furches is charged with DWI and Felony Death by Motor Vehcile. She was granted a $200,000 bond.
