The Center is welcoming its first Broadway touring show in 11 years in the spring of 2019, along with other major productions.
Leaders at the center say they hope to attract a wider, more diverse audience in order to keep the center successful.
"UNCSA puts on four or five major productions here every year, including ballet, symphony and opera. However, we also want to show Broadway musicals, pop music, family attractions and magic," said Wiley Hausam with the Steven Center.
The center hopes to start a full renovation in the next couple of years. The last time the center was renovated was in 1983.
