GUILFORD COUNTY -- Crisis teams have been meeting with students of Guilford County high schools after three students have died on separate occasions.

Jaden West, a 15-year-old from Greensboro attended Dudley High School, died Saturday from injuries he suffered during an altercation last month on September 24 at a home on Randall Street in Greensboro. Residents of the home called 911 to report an attempted burglary around 9 p.m. Witnesses described a physical affray among the teen and several people who were inside the home at the time.  Upon arrival, police found the teen unresponsive outside of the residence. He was transported by ambulance to Moses Cone Hospital where remained until his death. The case has been referred to the Medical Examiners Officer for a determination on the manner of death.

Dezmond 'Dez' Woods, 16, attended Southwest Guilford High School. Woods died Sunday morning to a wreck on I-85 in Davidson County. He was the passenger. His friend and former basketball teammate, 18-year-old Brandon Lamberth, is facing charges of careless driving and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Tesla Hill, 16, attended High Point Central. Hill was in a car traveling on I-40 near Rock Quarry Road when the driver of that car started having a medical emergency. Hill and a third passenger along with another driver stopped to help. During this time they were struck by a third car traveling westbound on I-40. She was five months pregnant.
