TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas -- Powerful storms ripped through Central Texas overnight leaving destruction in its path.
One of the affected areas was in Southeast Travis County, where several families lost their homes.
"The wind and stuff banging on the walls. It was the scare of my life," said Juliana Martinez.
At daylight, people stepped outside to find themselves surrounded by damage.
"This is the worst we've ever had. I've been here for six years and nothing like this has ever happened," said Martinez.

Monday, residents along Mustang Mesa Drive picked up pieces of their homes. Twisted metal, furniture and other debris scattered throughout the neighborhood.
"I got a call from my neighbor saying my shed was gone. So, I looked out and my shed's all the way across to another property, mangled,” said resident, Duncan Bone.
Mustang Ridge's police chief said up to six families lost their homes.
"I've talked to most of the families. No injuries, but a lot of damage," said chief Leonard Cantu.

The damage ranged from missing shutters, roofs ripped off to a torn up bedroom.
"I'm going to have to pick up a lot of my shed, a couple of pieces of my house--some of my screen windows are missing. I have to go out and go find all of that, but nothing compared to this. I had it easy,” said Bone.
This community had seen other natural disasters and residents were confident they'll recover this time too. But every passing storm brings change. At least four homes were severely damaged in the storm.
Texas Disposal Systems came into the neighborhood to help with clean up. The Red Cross was onsite to assist affected families.
