The neighborhood goes a little kookier than usual in Tyler Perry's “Boo! A Madea Halloween.”

It continues the series with new spooks but the scariest thing about film may be reviews that say the tired comedy is laughably bad.

The first film wasn't bad but this one takes a nose dive with critics who say Cruise's charm falls flat and the monotonous action thriller is just about all out of thrills.

The buzz is even worse for “Keeping up with the Joneses.” The suburban couples spy comedy comes with an eye-catching cast including Zack Galafinakis, John Hamm, Gal Gadot and Isla Fisher. But a lack of laughs and a dull script gets mostly panned by critics.

Everyone one in a while a sequel actually turns out better that the first and that's the cast with “Ouija: Origin of Evil.”

The low budget horror thrill rates high for scary drama and supernatural thrills.You just might want to avoid the entire trailer to keep you guessing.

Films in limited release include the sensational Japanese anime feature “Miss Hokusai,” telling the story of a daughter behind one of history's most famous artists.

Also, native Texan Ethan Hawke stars in the spaghetti western “In A Valley of Violence,” which opens to great reviews for its classic appeal at the Santikos Bijou.
