Tropical Storm Danny made landfall just north of Hilton Head, South Carolina on Monday evening, quickly weakening thereafter. It dissipated into a remnant low Tuesday morning.
Tropical Depression Four formed Monday morning and became Tropical Storm Danny in the afternoon. This was the fourth named storm of the season. Danny was a weak tropical storm at landfall with estimated winds around 45 mph.
It still brought locally heavy rain to parts of South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, thanks to the tropical moisture. Just north of Savannah, Ga., between four and five inches of rain fell. Bands of rainfall around two inches stretched across central Georgia into Alabama.
We're following a couple other disturbances in the open Atlantic.
