When Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson used the term "filth" in a speech about the LGBTQ+ community, Democrats quickly called for his resignation. The state Republican party issued a statement of support for Robinson.  

However, there are some Republicans, particularly young Republicans, who are growing concerned about the party's image with the LGBTQ community and in urban/suburban spaces. Two of those Republicans made no bones about it in posts on Twitter.
