On this week’s episode of Tying It Together With Tim Boyum, Tim and Ben talk with a North Carolina couple about their recent battle with COVID-19 and their new push for wearing face masks.

Angie and AJ Daoud are well known in Republican circles. AJ has been a party official, candidate for office, and helps with presidential visits. Angie has also served as a delegate to the Republican Nation Convention.

Their faith in the party may be waning however, after the couple contracted COVID-19 In July.

AJ recovered within a couple of days, but Angie spent nearly a week in the ICU. Now, roughly two months after overcoming the virus, she can barely climb a set of stairs and doctors tell her the now permanent scar tissue in her lungs will eventually lead to emphysema.

Hear the heart-wrenching story of Angie's fight to survive, the moments when AJ didn’t know if his wife was alive, and how she is now on a mission to get people to understand the importance of wearing a mask despite facing backlash over the issue.
