UTICA, N.Y. -- There's a new Price Rite Supermarket in Utica.
The 32,000 square foot facility opened its doors on Sunday.
The first 200 customers received gift cards to the store and store executives presented donations to the Feed Our Vets food pantry, Hope House and Rescue Mission.
It's expected to bring about 85 jobs to the area and owners say they believe it will be a positive addition to the neighborhood.
"In our market analysis, there's 24 percent of the population in a three-mile ring that don't have automobiles so having a store in close proximity to where they live that offers fresh, nutritious food is a big deal," said Neil Duffy, Price Rite Supermarkets president.
Owners say it's the 12th store to open in the state and they're looking to open more locations in Utica.
