RALEIGH, N.C. - It was a scary moment for the Carolina Hurricanes Monday night.

Goalie Eddie Lack took a nasty hit as the Detroit Red Wings scored the game winning goal.

He had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher.

All of the players gathered around showing their support.

The team says Lack was taken to UNC Rex Hospital for evaluation, and he was able to feel his extremities.

Shortly after the game Lack took to twitter to let the fans know he's OK.

The team provided an update on Lack's condition.

The Canes play Detroit again on home ice Tuesday.
