ROCHESTER, N.Y. — State troopers have provided an update after a trooper shot a suspect while serving a warrant in Rochester.
State police say a trooper on the U.S. Marshal Regional Fugitive Task Force fired their service weapon, injuring Joshua Bennett, 37.
This happened Friday on Fairbanks Street, when police say Bennett held a woman at knife point with a butcher's knife before moving towards police.
Troopers and U.S. Marshals say Bennett is a parolee and they were serving a parole absconder warrant for him.
He was taken to Strong Hospital and is in guarded condition.
