  • Daveonte Dixon, 21, has been at-large since the shooting happened Wednesday night

  • Here’s some insight on how police might be going about their search

Authorities are now offering a combined $40,000 cash reward for information that leads to his arrest, and that’s something former law enforcement officer Tim Dimoff said creates amazing results. He said people that don’t even know him will be looking for him, and that amount of money often entices people that do know him to come forward.

“He even goes into a gas station, a grocery store or just a restaurant, it's amazing how many people are going to say, wait a minute, he looks like that guy they're looking for. Hey, there's a reward, and they're going to take advantage of it,” Dimoff said.

Dimoff, the president of SACS Consulting and Investigative Services, Inc., said that by now police have already gone to the suspect’s home as that’s one of the first things they’ll do.

They're likely continuing to track down family members and friends, checking the homes where they live and interviewing them. He said police will continue to push out photos of the suspect on as many news channels as they can, and they’re also likely checking cameras from many different public areas.

Now, he said they just keep the pressure on. He said a situation like this is often all hands on deck, so local law enforcement and federal agencies combine their efforts to apprehend this individual. As for the public, Dimoff said if you see something, say something.

“What clothes does he have on? Is he in a car? Is he with anybody else? Where did you see him at? So, the actual physical description of him and his surroundings and people, cars, you know, is very important,” Dimoff said. “Just telling him they think they saw him and what he was wearing becomes crucial to the situation.”

Dimoff said it really takes a tremendous effort to have to hide, as Dixon will need to eat, sleep and find transportation. Depending on how much money he has on him, he can only get so far.

Dimoff said law enforcement are looking for Dixon 24/7, so he expects him to be found within the next couple of days.
