ORLANDO, Fla. —  ICEBAR Orlando’s Epic Summer takes over International Drive. One of the main draws is getting to see demos by an Olympic ice carver.

Here are 5 things to know about the attraction.

  1. ICEBAR Orlando — touted as the world’s largest of its kind — is celebrating 17 years in Orlando. This summer, they are debuting a brand-new Tiki Themed ICEBAR Beach Club, a frozen paradise where guests can … chill.

  2. Its “Epic Summer” also includes ice carving demos by an Olympic Silver medalist. Victor Dagatan says ice carving is a skill not uncommon in his hometown in the Philippines. “We know each other,” the artist told us. “We grew up in the same place where wood carving’s the livelihood and then become an ice carver.”

  3. Dagatan has been in Orlando eight years now. During “Epic Summer,” ICEBAR is inviting the public to watch the carvers demo their works live and up-close (on weekends).

  4. Thomas Kerr is ICEBAR’s owner. He anticipates getting a pop in business from the grand opening of Universal’s Epic Universe, even offering incentives for free admission when guests present their theme park ticket. “It’s a big deal to all the businesses in the surrounding area. And here on I-Drive, all the businesses are excited about it.”

  5. ICEBAR Orlando’s Epic Summer is now all the way through Sept. 1. It includes specialty cocktails, giveaways, and more.
