LEXINGTON, Ky. — The deadly tornadoes have devastated portions of the state and athletes from the University of Kentucky are stepping up to help.


What You Need To Know

  • University of Kentucky student-athletes have set up a donation drive

  • The public can donate to the cause Thursday and Friday, May 22 & 23

  • Donations will be collected at the Kroger Field Blue Lot

  • All donations go toward disaster relief

UK student-athletes Jager Burton from football and Trent Noah from men’s basketball are spearheading the initiative.

Staff and athletes are accepting donations beginning Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23 at the Kroger Field Blue Lot which is adjacet to Alumni Drive.

Donations will be accepted Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m and on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

All of the donations will go toward tornado relief efforts in southern Kentucky.

The essential supplies needed are:

  • Rakes and shovels
  • Trash bags
  • Cleaning supplies 
  • Paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels) 
  • Flashlights and lanterns
  • Non-perishable foods
