Police said the passenger boarded the bus, refused to pay, hit the safety partition and then became angry when the driver confronted him. He then punched the driver. The suspect was found outside of the bus when detectives arrived.

The suspect was arrested and charged with battery to a public transit operator, resisting and six counts of bail jumping.

This is yet another attack on a Madison Metro bus driver this year. In February, a passenger shoved a driver, causing the bus to crash into a restaurant, according to MPD. A suspect has since been arrested and charged.
