MEBANE, N.C. — A child died Wednesday due to an accidental shooting, according to the Mebane Police Department.
The shooting occurred near First and Lee streets north of Interstate 40 in Mebane, according to police.
The child was found in a vehicle and died after being taken to a hospital.
Police said there is no threat to the public and an investigation is ongoing.
