“You really get to really kind of mold each little part of them and see their own individual process, so you know them so well that you know how to aid them in that,” said Griffin.

Griffin is an artist, and teaching her passion is a dream come true.

“Every work of art is original, one of a kind, never ever been done before and will never ever be produced again and I’m like, ‘How amazing is that?’” said Griffin.

She wants her students to feel proud of their artwork. She puts it on display around the school, and every year all the students contribute to a huge mural. They also get the opportunity to showcase their art throughout the community at different shows.

“It’s just highbrow, and they can feel that and it really gives them a place of they have a place in the world with their art,” said Griffin.

Griffin says her number one rule for her classroom is to always be kind to others.

“It takes bravery to be an artist. You’re putting yourself out there and saying is it good enough and in here, they’re in a safe environment and they know everybody is going to receive it with kindness,” said Griffin.
