HIGH POINT, N.C. — While many schools are constantly adding technology to their curriculum, one school is changing the game.

What You Need To Know

  • One school in Guilford County has an interactive Lu

  • The device helps kids with their math skills

  • The screen introduces students to kinesthetic learning

Fairview Elementary School in High Point is the only school in Guilford County to receive an interactive Lu.

The Lu is a video and audio system that transforms gym class to an interactive environment.

“So I'm looking for two things. I want to, of course, I want to see who knows the correct math problem, but I also want to see who can hit the target,” physical education teacher Martez Finch said.

Finch said incorporating the new system has been hard, but he’s getting better each time he uses it.

The school bought the system after getting an innovative partnership grant in 2021.

“Being interactive helps out a lot because then kids can touch it, they can play with it, but that's going to really help, I believe fuse a lot of different areas into one here at the school," Fairview Assistant Principal Abe Hege said.

Hege also mentioned that this device will help the community with different things such as meetings.
