ARCHDALE, N.C. – Residents at an assisted living facility in the Triad are looking for pen pals to keep them company while being isolated during the pandemic due to social distancing.

North Pointe of Archdale Assisted Living is locked down due coronavirus concerns for its higher risk residents.

Executive Director Rachel Reynolds says the facility posted pictures on Facebook asking for people to help keep these seniors company during social distancing, and it went viral.

The signs said, "Will you be my pen pal?"


“With all of the negativity going on with coronavirus scares, and things like that, we’re just trying to light up some faces,” Reynolds says. “We’re just looking forward to all of the response and the support we’ve received. We never thought it would be this huge.”
