WILMINGTON, N.C. – Visitors to Lewis Farms are used to picking their own strawberries this time of year, but that is on hold for now.
Consumers will have to get their strawberries curbside for now due to coronavirus concerns, but that’s not stopping customers from coming to strawberry farms.
Heritage Fresh Market in Brunswick County is picking strawberries every other day to keep up with demand.
"A lot of people, in today’s times, are home, and so I think there is a lot of jam and pies being made. So, and we're just fortunate enough to be able to furnish them with strawberries," Heritage’s Jody Clemmons says.
