CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. – After almost 18 months of recovering from Hurricane Florence, the Savannah Inn is about to re-open.

  • The Savannah Inn is about to re-open
  • The hotel sustained major damage from Hurricane Florence in 2018
  • It has cost $700,000 to repair it

The roof of the ocean-front property was blown off during the storm in September 2018. After $700,000 in repairs, the furniture is arriving and the hotel is getting ready for business again.

"At the beginning, you know, it was something that we probably thought would never happen. It was really hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but of course a year and a half later here we are, we're almost a hundred percent re-opened, and I can't believe we did it," Savannah Inn Manager Brittany Francis says.

The staff has to finish putting some rooms together and do final inspections before finishing by the end of this month.

“I can’t believe we made it, but I never for a second thought that this wouldn't happen. I knew we would be back open, we'd be at 100 percent, and we would be better than ever," Francis says.
