SURF CITY, N.C. -- A Surf City man has been charged with killing two people in a drunk driving crash.

  • Authorities say 23-year-old James Thomason was speeding down North New River Driver Sunday night when he hit another car traveling the same road.
  • The second car overturned and caught fire.
  • The two people inside died.

Thomason has been charged with two counts of felony death by motor vehicle, drunk driving, and having an open container.
