WILMINGTON, N.C. -- With cold air continuing to settle in across the region under clear skies, everyone is off to a cold start Thursday morning with the coldest conditions we've seen in two weeks! Sunshine continues Thursday but will be "chilled." Highs will only top off in the low to mid 40s with winds slowly set to diminish throughout the afternoon.

Thursday night will be the coldest night this week, with temperatures taking a tumble into the mid 20s for several locations by Friday morning. Expect one more day of chilly sunshine Friday before changes arrive for the weekend.

An approaching low pressure system is set to bring moisture back to the region Saturday evening. Here for the coast, we will only see rain with the wettest day expected Sunday!
