WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Cape Fear Volunteer Center has triple the amount of children on their angel tree this year, and they're still short on toys.

  • The center CEO said there are 300 children on the tree this year, and they're scrambling to fulfill the need.
  • Their goal is to give at least 4 presents to each child.
  • The center will be taking monetary donations for the angel tree on their website and accepting toy donations until Sunday.

The Center's CEO Annie Anthony said there are 300 children on the tree this year, and with Christmas around the corner, they're scrambling to fulfill the need.

"If you can remember back to a time when you didn't have all the money that you needed, and you were trying to buy Christmas for your nieces or nephews or your own children and you just hoped you had enough because you didn't want them to be disappointed. It's that feeling times 300," said Anthony.

Their goal is to give at least 4 presents to each child, and right now they're short items for about 100 children.

The center will be taking monetary donations for the angel tree on their website and accepting toy donations until Sunday.
