WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Rain and a lot of it will be a concern for eastern North Carolina Friday and Saturday.

  • Up to 4 inches of rain is possible
  • Small creeks and streams could flood
  • Lots of sunshine early next week
Some areas could see upwards of 3 inches to 4 inches in the rain department.

Rivers in the region are already up from the earlier snow issues west of us. Small creeks and streams could rapidly flood as the rain falls through the day Friday.

Another concern would be the potential for some aggressive storms with this system. Mid to upper 60s and a fast moving jet aloft, could allow for some big ticket storm development.

Things should start settling back a bit later Saturday with some clearing starting later Sunday.  Much of early next week should be rain free with a lot of sunshine.
