After Hurricane Florence hit their community, they decided to hold a Halloween costume drive. Their student government association organized the drive and the school posted about it on Facebook.
In the past two weeks the school has received costumes from across the country. Some people are sending costumes straight from Amazon to the school, giving kids the opportunity to choose from brand new costumes.
"Sometimes the biggest gestures are really often small," said Principal Kevin Taylor. "A pat on the back, a handshake, a smile, those things can go a really long way for the right person. That's what we're hopeful we're doing right now."
The school is hosting an event called "Treats on the Trail" Monday, October 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on a trail beside their campus. The public is invited to come in costume or take a costume provided by the school.
