COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. -- Many residents in Columbus County are mourning the death of State Highway Patrol trooper Kevin Conner.
- Raheem Davis is charged with shooting the trooper during a traffic stop Wednesday morning.
- Some flags are flying half-staff around the county
- Visitation for Trooper Conner will be held at South Columbus High School on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Conner later died at the hospital.

Some flags are flying half-staff around the county and workers at Jimmy G’s Time Saver say everyone should be doing this out of respect.
They say he was a frequent customer at their store.
"He was a nice person. He laughed, joked. He was very hardy and a nice person," said Jesse Sasser, Jimmy G's assistant manager.
Visitation for Trooper Conner will be held at South Columbus High School on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
His service will immediately follow at 4 p.m.
