WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Wilmington coffee shop "Bitty & Beau’s" plans to open a third location in Savannah, Georgia.
- Bitty & Beau's is a coffee shop run by 40 employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
- The shop is named after the owners' two youngest children, Bitty and Beau, who have Down syndrome.
- The mission on Bitty & Beau's is to advocate for the value, inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The first location opened in Wilmington in 2016 and focuses on employing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
A second location in Charleston opened earlier this year.
Bitty & Beau's has made national headlines including last year when its founder, Amy Wright, was named CNN's 2017 "Hero of the Year."
