NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. -- From Carolina Beach to Wrightsville Beach, most vacationers feel their favorite spots are the best.
USA Today wants to settle the debate by having the public vote for the Top 10 Best North Carolina Beaches.
You have until April 2 to log onto the publication's website and cast your vote.
Some beachgoers are happy to see North Carolina get some recognition for what they see as the state's sandy oasis.
One beachgoer said she hopes Carolina Beach ranks as number one because of how quiet and relaxing it is.
"We do feel like it's very clean, very nice. It was closer than some of the other beaches so that was an attraction for us this morning that we could get here quicker," said West Virginia resident Amanda Casto.
Brent Howlett enjoys the beaches because they are dog friendly and can be visited year round.
"I think the beaches here are just unique beaches from the east coast. It’s not too hot like Florida. It’s not too cold like up north. I think it’s just perfect in the middle," mentioned Howlett.
Emerald Isle, Oak Island and Kure Beach are also on the list to name a few.
The winning beaches will be announced April 6.
