The work week started off nicely with blue skies and sunshine through high clouds. Look for the cloud cover to thicken up overnight as the next system moves our way.

It looks like we’ll get through the morning commute dry, but you can expect rain to overspread eastern North Carolina by afternoon. Scattered showers will be with us for the rest of the day then ending late Tuesday night.

Breezy conditions return Wednesday as an area of low pressure intensifies off our north coast as it heads to the New England coast where is will be a major snow storm Tuesday night and Wednesday.  If you have travel plans that take you through the airports in the northeast on Wednesday expect some delays.

Quiet and cool weather winds down the work week, looks like things warm up for the weekend with a chance of rain by Sunday.
