JACKSONVILLE, N.C. -- No charges will be filed in the crash involving an Onslow County school bus and a teenage student.     

It happened Friday morning near Jacksonville High School.

The investigation showed 16-year-old Gary Long did not yield to the school bus and ran into the road as the bus was going through a green light.

Authorities say the bus driver did try to turn the steering wheel but could not avoid Long, who was hit by the right bumper.

At last report, Long remained in critical condition at Vidant Medical Center.
