ALBANY, N.Y. - Two state lawmakers are calling for a law to require new packaging for laundry detergent pods.

This comes after the dangerous "Tide Pod Challenge" hit the internet, with kids recording themselves keeping the toxic detergent in their mouths.

The chemicals in the pods can lead to chemical burns in the mouth and throat, and if left untreated could lead to death.

The law would prohibit packaging that makes the pods look like candy.

Proctor & Gamble, which owns Tide, recently launched a campaign to warn people not to eat the pods.
