HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Some vacationers recently spotted quite an unsettling sight slithering along one South Carolina beach.

Jonathan Wiles and his wife, Lindsay,  posted photos and videos to their Facebook pages last Tuesday of what appears to be a diamondback rattlesnake making its way along the shore at Port Royal Plantation Beach at Hilton Head Island.

According to Jonathan Wiles, the snake “rolled out of a wave”  onto the sand as the couple were taking a morning stroll along the beach.
