HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. -- Since the beginning of the year, people from around the world have been following April the Giraffe, but now, two new animals are taking center stage.

Monday morning, Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville officially welcomed alligators Whitney and Lisle to the public. If the two look familiar, it's because they were both rescued in Whitney Point last month by the DEC after being spotted along the river.

The two gators now join three others the park had previously housed after similar rescues.

The first gator was captured along the Tioughnioga River. Just a week later, a second was found in the same area.

No one knows how the gators got there, but it's believed they were let loose.

Park owner Jordan Patch says attendance has continued to grow, just as the park has.
