Children now have a new place to read and play at the Queens Library in Flushing.
Library officials celebrated the re-opening of the library's children's room Thursday. The $1.5 million project took about two years to complete. It now has new books and computers, along with a wall full of giant and detachable LEGO Blocks.
Second graders from P.S. 244 were the first to see the newly-renovated room. They have already picked out which part of the room they enjoy the most.
“There were more computers and there were LEGOs on the wall,” said Natalia, one of the students who attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“We got to play with the LEGOs. That was my favorite,” added classmate Qalib.
The room also features a new Early Learning Center with a puppet theatre and more books for kids preschool age and younger.
