WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The woman shot Saturday outside of Independence Mall in Wilmington has died.
Police say 24-year-old Catherine Ruth Ballard, of Wilmington, was shot just before 1:30 p.m. near the main entrance.
Ballard died Saturday from her injuries.
There’s no word at this time on who the shooter was but authorities say they believe this was an isolated incident.
