NEWTOWN, Conn. — Today is the fourth anniversary of one of the deadliest and most devastating mass shootings in U.S. history.
Twenty elementary school students and six adults were gunned down at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut.

The 20-year-old shooter later killed himself as police approached the school.
Connecticut will fly flags at half-staff today to honor the victims.
Newtown marked the anniversary with 15 minutes of silence at 9:30 a.m., the time when the shooting started.
